Crochet! Loveliness! Cats! Longish Silences!

It’s the end of August and with only an hour to spare I’m sacraficing a few minutes of bedtime to squeeze in one last post for the month.

The above picture is of some fantastic cakes in a shop where I always end up ordering the same chocolate mousse that I never seem to finish. I’m sure it’s magical and it’s the same mousse everytime, it just replenishes if you don’t eat it all. One day I’ll conquer the Never-ending Mousse.

I remember someone saying late last year that 2012 will year of change. I thought how prophetic. But doesn’t change happen every year? Haha. Well, whatever version you want to go with there’s been some changes happen in my tree so far and I’m still adjusting happily.

The above picture is three ducks sleeping under a bush when it looked like rain. Well Sir Duck, those Clouds had us all fooled that time.

The sewing room is still a mess and I haven’t yet made up that second inspiration space post about the new garden. I ran into idea overload while walking past a shopping mall (read: “I could make that. I could make that. Ooh, I’ll add that to the next thing I make. I could make that. I could…”) and had to stop looking at Pinterest while all my making stuff is still in boxes.

Crochet goodness! I didn’t resist an impulse yarn-buy and then I didn’t resist an impulse scarf-start. And a hat-hooking. That’s an exciting post worth waiting for.

I did however dig out my crochet bits, completed some things, and started a few more during this time of object shuffling. Most have since disappeared back into the landscape of stuff piles – but I will get myself organised enough to post about them soon!

Felix is a nut. He’s also a cat, but I believe more of a nut, his brain is of the type squirrels would collect but we don’t have squirrels around us so he gets to keep his nut. The above picture was taken mid-lick by Kidney John. Everytime I see it it makes me giggle uncontrollably.

Goodnight and see you next month!

Meandering Garden Diary: The First Tour

Last week I announced we had moved into our new home in Melbourne. We’re slowly settling in, and while doing so Felix and I made some time to go for a wander in our new garden.

I had said it was lovely. So lovely that it’s inspired me to take up gardening! Now I don’t consider my thumbs very green, and I’m already very busy with work and stuff. So my gardening will be small and my Garden Diary will be mostly pictures!

I haven’t started any gardening yet. But it’s early days – and I’d like to know where we started. So on that note, here is Morgan and Felix’s First Garden Tour!

Oh My Gosh Melbourne!

Hello, I’m still alive! Still living life, organising myself (and Sweetheart!) and generally getting things done. I’ve been pretty quiet these last few weeks in pretty much every area – it seems like ages ago I packed up the Star Anise Blanket and started to move house.

Well, we have now moved house. We haven’t unpacked, so I’m not sure exactly where the Star Anise Blanket is now, but it’s here somewhere, there are just soooo many boxes! But I know that’s not news, it’s pretty normal for moving houses.

But what is news, and I am kinda OMG REALLY excited to say is: We now live in Melbourne!!! OMGYAYCOOLAWESOMELETSGOOUTANDPARTY!

Felix doesn’t seem to have much of an opinion on the move but is adjusting fast to his new home. His new garden is so fantastic I’m considering starting a garden diary here. It’s that Awesome.

I am so excited to move back to my most favourite city in Australia. I do feel like I’ve come home. What’s more I’m working from home at the moment and whenever I look out the window to solve a problem, I break out in smiles because I’m home. That, and the view:

Woot!

In all this business, I have very little Craftiness to report on. I did make some hats for family, but in the craziness of it all I didn’t get photos before I gave them to their owners. Oh well. Next time we meet for tea then.

Sweetheart and I are currently enjoying our first ‘relaxing’ weekend at home in a few weeks. It’s nice to not have to go anywhere for a day or two. I’m hoping I can get through some of my 145 unread emails and 702 unread blog posts…Β and get a few more boxes unpacked!

Stay happy!
