It would seem that my creativity has outstripped my blog writing! My original intent for this blog was to catalogue all the things I make to keep track of them as I wear out, sell or de-clutter. As it happened, that catalogue now spans accross this blog, Instagram, Ravelry and of course my Etsy store. Oh well.
Nonetheless, this blog is still where I want everything to end up. So if you follow me elsewhere, you may have already seen these, but they’re so pretty I’m sure you won’t mind seeing them again!

My latest project has me rather excited.
Over a year ago I made a simple post about a corset-making kit I bought. Well today, I present to you the beginings of a corset made from that kit!
Golden Joy! Cut the pieces…
… all the pieces. Line them up…
And magically install the busk!
Bruise your hands installing the eyelets…
… and take some time to recover.
Sew it all together!
And all of a sudden I have half a corset! Part 2 will knock your socks off soon!!
Fridays, like any other day of the week, are great days for being Inspired!
But hold on, I hear you say, how can one be Inspired with Pants? Aren’t the best days those where pants are not in close proximity?
Well yes, I’d agree with you. But here we’re not necessarily wearing pants; we are sewing pants.
Tomorrow is the first day of a new month, which means a new Theme as per the feedback we gave ourselves. I haven’t sewn in nearly two months, so it’s time to get back to it. I’ve got a few Pants already cut, and have dreams about more.
Today, let’s look at those dreams:
Ok ok you got me… technically that’s a dream come true. But really, I LIVE in these pants. I love them so much. I’m making another pair for my mum so we can have the same pants.
But these Awesome Pants are the Inspiration for this week. Wide legged elastic waist pyjama style pants are just my thing, and in such a lovely fabric they make me comfy and happy at home, in the office, in the grocery store… wherever.
So more! More Inspiration of Wonderful Comfy Wide Legged Pants!
Clearly I’m also big on florals. I predict I’ll be wearing a lot of them this year, even if the rest of the world wore them ages ago… 😀
I came across this square of fabric several times while growing up. As the years passed it moved with us untill a year or two ago when I found it amongst some fabrics and curtains from the old house. Well then, I thought, I’ll have it now that I can sew.
Lo it was in my pile of things to sew when my mum was over. She smiled and touched it, remembering she bought the fabric when our family dog was a puppy to make a bed for him.
Our old dog had a long happy life and died aged 15 years some time ago! It was decided then I would name the skirt in his memory.
What a royal doggy bed it would have been. Now it’s a royal pencil skirt welcome for any new family pet to have a nap on (preferably while I’m wearing it.)!
